LOVE, LABOR LOSS
The documentary film "Love, Labor, Loss" profiles
the struggles of young mothers in Africa who are ostracized because of
"obstetric fistula", a condition they develop from prolonged labor and lack of
access to emergency obstetric care. Shot on location in Niger, West Africa and to
be distributed in 2005 , "Love, Labor, Loss" is the first full length
U.S.-produced documentary film to address the issue and does so
strategically by engaging a Western audience who know little about the disease.
